"O God,
enlarge within us the sense of fellowship with all living things,
our little brothers to whom Thou hast given this earth as their home
in common with us.
"May we realize
that they live not for us alone, but for themselves and for Thee,
and that they love the sweetness of life even as we, and serve Thee
better in their place than we in ours." - St. Basil the Great
Skippy - My Italian Greyhound
Rescue

CONGRATULATIONS
TO SKIPPY!
Skip completed
his AKC/CGC Evaluation and PASSED at the 2nd Annual Chico Canine
Carnival! Thank you Debbie Eaglebarger, CGC Evaluator and Dog
Trainer at
Second Chance Animal Rescue.
He is now an AKC
Certified Canine Good Citizen!
Skip or Skippy is my
Rescued Italian Greyhound. He had a bad start in life but by the
blessings of the Veterinarian Surgeon, Dr. Tom Broaddus,
Veterinarian Susan Broaddus, the
care of Vet Tech, Laurie Jarrett and all the staff at VCA
Gateway Animal Hospital, Skip was given a second chance to live
and had his broken leg repaired.
It was at a Nor Cal Dog Training Club
meeting that Laurie brought Skip to
one of the meetings looking for a "quiet" home to help him
recover, rehabilitate, potty train, and learn to be a dog.
After much discussion
with my friend and roommate, he came to live at our house at the
age of 1 year and 3 months old.
He has come a long
way in his training, potty training and socialization. As of
March 2010 Skippy is 4 years old and is learning some Rally Obedience skills. He still
has a long way to go, but take a look at his photos and how can
you not love this little guy!
