Family Dog Training
Instructor
I take a positive approach to dog training that's based
on a deeper understanding of canine behavior. I’m here to
help you communicate with your dog in order to stop bad
habits and develop good behaviors.
Group training sessions
encourage socialization and success.
Private lessons are
also available for those unique sessions that require that
one-on-one attention.
Positive dog training techniques are
used and yet, I make sure I have a "trainers tool box" full
of ideas and time-tested techniques that will give you and
your dog confidence.

Kathy is currently enrolled in the
Animal Behavior College Dog Training Program
and finishing
her externship this spring.
Kathy has owned a variety of dogs throughout her
life including many mixed breeds of all shapes and sizes, Coon
Hounds, German Shepherds, Labs, Dobermans,
Poodles, Shelties and an Italian Greyhound! She began training her own dogs in
the mid 90's and began her dog training career by mentoring under
numerous professionals in the Northern California Region and
attending several seminars.
Five of her dogs have obtained the American Kennel Club’s Canine
Good Citizenship Award (Jaime-Sheltie, Megan-Lab, Patrick-Sheltie,
Dani Joy - Sheltie, Skippy-Italian Greyhound).
Her Chocolate Lab, Megan & both her Shelties,
Patrick Ryan & Dani Joy have earned titles in the dog racing sport
called Flyball.
Patrick Ryan & Dani Joy have earned titles in AKC
Competition Rally Novice Obedience and Patrick has 2 legs
towards his Rally Advanced Title.
She has trained her dogs in obedience,
rally obedience, agility,
flyball, beginning tricks, clicker training, beginning tracking & beginning herding.
Kathy continues her education and training experiences in a wide
variety of classes, seminars, mentorships, and other learning opportunities.
